Before launching their mobile application, the University of Angers teams faced a well-known problem in higher education: email communication had become ineffective. Too many messages, not targeted enough, rarely read by students.
With 27,491 students spread across 5 campuses (Belle-Beille, Saint-Serge, Santé in Angers, Cholet and Saumur), coordinating information was a major logistical challenge. The intranet and website were no longer sufficient.
The university wanted a modern, fluid and intuitive channel to centralise useful information, accessible from a device already omnipresent: the smartphone.
As Delphine Boisdron, Director of Communications, explains: today's student generations were born digital. Offering online services adapted to their habits had become self-evident.

By choosing AppScho by Edusign, the University of Angers found the solution to connect its existing tools (Celcat for timetables, social networks, internal services) and guide students to the right services at the right time.
The launch was supported by an effective communication campaign: presentations at orientation meetings, a video shared on social media and app stores, stickers on campuses announcing the app's arrival. Result: 5,000 downloads in 15 days, 8,000 by end of year.
The app became the go-to channel for important announcements, timetable updates, and targeted content distribution thanks to push notifications.
During the health crisis, the app proved even more essential: a single, reliable and fast point of contact between the university and its students, even remotely.

Today, the UnivAngers app has 9,000 daily active users and is an integral part of the university's digital ecosystem. It is valued by staff and adopted by students in their daily routine.
